To make a pumpkin desert or pumpkin halwa recipe , always use jaggery or gur because it is more healthy as comparison to the sugar. First the pumpkin is peel off and then cut into several pieces. All the seeds are remove and the pieces are boiled in water till soft enough . The entire process may take up to 1 hour.
Then it is cooked with edible oil and jaggery added .
Stir continuously to avoid any sticking at bottom
Finally the halwa prepared and garnish with peanut and coconut.
