Type 2 diabetes is a metabolic disorder.we cannot predict the exact time to rise in blood sugar  as insulin production is poor and episodes of rising are irregular.but at morning diabetic often get raised blood sugar.Episodes of hyperglycemia came periodically early in the morning before as well as after breakfast.Rise in blood sugar before breakfast remain more common as compared to after breakfast.Dawn phenomenon can be easily differentiated from somogyi effect as there is no any episode of hypoglycemia.                                                                                                                                                                            Fasting blood sugar indicators

By controlling diabetes,a patient can also reduces severe risks of his health complications ,affecting badly retinal,renal,and cardiac conditions.According to Dr.Sarah brewer,the rise in the blood sugar at morning is dawn effect.She explained that when we sleep, the insulin hormone stop working as no food came from outside while sleeping.so the liver starts utilizing glycogen to produce glucose.In this process two other , glucagon and,Cortisol works.As type 2 is a metabolic syndrome so in this case liver produces glucose but the glucose high level still exist

.Dr Brewer advices to consult your diabetic consultant in this situation,because he will update all of your diet chart, exercise plan,and even your insulin dose if taking.Doctor further suggested enough hydration in such conditions.you should take enough water and certain liquids without sugar.Healthy breakfast and certain herbal medications can also be beneficial with consultation of physician.Glucose monitoring at fasting and before and after meals is also helpful to monitor spikes in blood sugar.                                                                                                                                                                                                       There may be some other factors associated with  dawn phenomenon such as poor sleep quality in type 2 diabetes could be responsible for dawn phenomenon.So the people with type 2 diabetes should have no disruption in their sleeping cycle to avoid dawn phenomenon.                                                                                                                                                                                    The patients with glucose level 180 mg/dl immediately need medical advice otherwise they will suffer severe diabetic complication.A combination of diet,medication and exercise can prevent complication.Taking medications at bedtime rather early in the morning,having early dinner and avoiding carbohydrates at sleeping time and having a little exercise such as yoga at evening can prevent dawn phenomenon.
