Watermelon is a good source of Lycopene and Citrulline.Lycopene is usually found in red portion of watermelon while citrulline is found in the white portion of watermelon.

Lycopene is a compound that works as antioxidant preventing certain cancer risks while Citrulline malate is an Amino acid that is converted into l arginine that converts nitrates into nitric oxide that play a vital role in vesodilation of blood arteries this helps to control blood pressure of body .

The later citrulline malate is present in white portion of watermelon that is discarded after eating red portion so eating White is also as important as red.
